Amid the transition of COVID-19 pandemic into endemic, we must recover the economy
Jakarta (ANTARA) - Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy Sandiaga Uno inaugurated a bazaar for micro, small, medium scale enterprises (MSMEs), dubbed Ramadan Fest 2022, at Sapta Pesona Building, here on Tuesday.

"Amid the transition of COVID-19 pandemic into endemic, we must recover the economy. We are holding this bazaar to empower MSMEs to sell good quality and affordable products," Minister Uno said in his opening remarks at the Ramadan Fest, which is being organized from April 19 to 21, 2022.

The minister officially opened his own stand called Sandi Uno, which is offering goods such as clothes and shoes that he has collected over the last 1.5 years. The goods are being offered at any price that buyers are willing to pay and all the sales proceeds will go to building a mosque at Sapta Pesona Building.

The Sandi Uno stand is prioritizing drivers, janitors, technicians, and security officers as buyers.

"This is contribution for a mosque construction. Hopefully, the mosque will be ready in this building (the Tourism and Creative Economy Ministry building) in the holy month of Ramadan next year. We will not use funds from the State Budget, but from our own," Uno said.

The bazaar has a total of 40 stands offering fashion products, household products, and foods.

The event has been organized by the ministry in cooperation with the ministry's Dharma Wanita (civil servants' wives) association.

At the event on Tuesday, Uno lauded the multiple roles women play in families as well as in economic and social life in general.

"Many entrepreneurs are women, those who manage a family's financing are women, those who manage spending are women, and those who manage children's education are also women," he remarked.
