Jakarta (ANTARA) - Cooking oil cash assistance has so far been distributed to 95.7 percent of the total 18.3 million beneficiary families (KPM), president director of state-owned postal company PT Pos Indonesia, Faizal Rochmad Djoemadi, has informed.

"Alhamdulillah (thank God), based on our dashboard, which can be accessed in real-time at the Ministry of Social Affairs, it (the assistance distribution) has reached 95.7 percent of the total data given by the Ministry of Social Affairs, namely 18.3 million beneficiaries," he said while distributing the assistance at Filateli Building, here on Friday.

The realization of the distribution has been quick, with 95.7 percent of the beneficiaries covered in just 10 days, Djoemadi added. He expressed the hope that the distribution would be completed before Eid al-Fitr.

However, there have been some obstacles in the distribution process, for example, some beneficiaries are away from home, some whose addresses are unknown, some have died, and some have changed their addresses, he noted.

He said that PT Pos cannot entrust the assistance except to the immediate family members of beneficiaries, who need to show their family cards as proof.

According to him, assistance that is not provided to a beneficiary will be returned to the Ministry of Social Affairs and will then be used for other social assistance programs in the future.

The cooking oil cash assistance is one of the government's efforts to protect and maintain the purchasing power of the community, especially the poor and vulnerable groups, as an important foundation for supporting and encouraging national economic recovery.

Cooking oil cash assistance of Rp100 thousand is being provided to each beneficiary for the months of April, May, and June 2022 as a one-time payment of Rp300 thousand in April. It is being distributed in cash through PT Pos Indonesia.
