Denpasar, Bali (ANTARA) - State-owned electricity company PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN) has invested Rp227.75 billion in a network procurement, expansion, and maintenance program in Bali to ensure uninterrupted power supply during the G20 Summit.

Senior manager of PLN’s Distribution Unit in Bali, Made Suamba, said the investment has been used to finance 43 programs that have been conducted since last year and are scheduled for completion in August this year.

"There are 43 action programs aimed at increasing the reliability of the electricity distribution network. PLN expects all the action programs to be completed in August 2022," he said in a written statement received in Denpasar on Wednesday.

The 43 programs include network rehabilitation, network expansion, uninterrupted power supply (UPS) procurement, cable arrangement, and other supporting jobs, he informed.

"The cable installation works have been completed in 26 out of 28 locations. The works in the remaining two locations need further communication with stakeholders so that they can be completed at the end of this month," he said.

PLN, Bali, is optimistic that the projects would be completed on schedule since many parties have been involved to expedite them.

Bali will host the G20 Summit in October–November 2022. A series of events that will lead up to the G20 Summit have been kicked off since December 2021.

To support the G20 Summit, PLN is planning to use rooftop photovoltaic power stations installed at 35 PLN office buildings in Bali and PT Indonesia Power's office building in August 2022.
