It is very important, considering the directives of the president (Joko Widodo) to encourage spending on domestic products.Surabaya, E Java (ANTARA) - East Java Governor Khofifah Indar Parawansa and Indonesian Ambassador to Romania and Moldova M. Amhar Azeth discussed various potential cooperation opportunities to be developed in the province.
"I welcome the various collaborations, and previously, (I have) asked for a detailed (cooperation) plan," the governor stated after meeting the ambassador at the Grahadi State Building, here on Sunday.
The cooperation potentials include in the health, agricultural, and the defense industry sectors.

Regarding the health sector, Parawansa affirmed that East Java Province has been the hub of health services for the eastern region of Indonesia.
Hence, her side has shown keen interest in the collaboration potential to build an antibiotic manufacturing unit, as establishment of the facility is necessary to fulfil the domestic public health service demand.
"It is very important, considering the directives of the president (Joko Widodo) to encourage spending on domestic products," she stated.
The governor affirmed that the antibiotic factory can be established in an area having huge economic potential.
In addition to the production of antibiotics, Parawansa noted that the collaboration potential on cancer treatment technology is interesting, as it does not involve any chemo process.

"Hence, a meeting should be conducted immediately with the management board of (East Java Province’s) Dr. Soetomo Regional Hospital (RSUD) for a technical explanation," she remarked.
Furthermore, there is an offer for cooperation potential from Romania on the defense industry through the construction of a copper bullet casing factory.
Parawansa affirmed that a smelter factory had been constructed in the province, precisely in Gresik City, with adequate infrastructure access, to ensure that raw material supply for the factory can be fulfilled well.
"Thus, the manufacturing process will be easier and cheaper," she stated.
Indonesian Ambassador to Romania and Moldova M. Amhar Azeth noted that East Java Province has the second-largest port in Indonesia as an international trade hub for East Asian and American countries.
"We have also met the head of Gresik District to hold talks regarding establishment of the bullet casing factory," he stated.
