We need to help one another to create an education space that is safe from violence
Depok, West Java (ANTARA) - University of Indonesia (UI) has cooperated with the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology to prevent the occurrence of bullying and violence in the nation’s schools.

Through her statement on Wednesday, the Ministry's Competency and Management Ministerial Special Staff, Vita R. Yudhani, noted that there are three major violent incidents within education: bullying, sexual violence, and intolerance.

Various form of bullying and violence while studying needs to be prevented and handled seriously because they can cause complicated impacts to students.

"To wipe out these three sins, there should be a collective movement, not just from victims, but also the people closest to them," she noted.

"We need to help one another to create an education space that is safe from violence," she said.

This collaboration was carried out by holding a webinar, entitled Bullying and Violence Prevention Education.

This webinar is part of the Indonesian International Student Mobility Awards (IISMA) Pre-Departure Series (PS) program that contains technical guidance and education for departure preparation of all awardees from various universities.

The current IISMA-PS series comes in the form of prevention and protection for awards over bullying and violent activities that may occur in other countries.

IISMA is part of the Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka (Freedom in Learning, Freedom in Campus) Program organized by the Ministry with the Indonesia Endowment Fund for Education (LPDP) through the High Education Directorate General.

The scholarship program, which exists since 2021, aims to provide an opportunity for semester four to six undergraduate students to pursue an education in renown universities that became the Ministry's partnern.

In 2022, 195 UI students passed the IISMA Program selection, making UI the university that sent the most students to continue their studies for one semester in America, Asia, Australia, and Europe.
