Amin called to stop groups advocating changes to the national accord, including the Khilafatul Muslimin group campaigning pro-caliphate thoughts.
"I think it is clear that the (group) has deviated because Indonesia has its national accord that our country will be a republic. The NKRI is final. Hence, advocates of a caliphate have violated the national accord that has been our national foundation," Amin stated after officiating the Islamic and Arabic Language Studies Centre Building in Bekasi, West Java, Wednesday.
The vice president stressed that owing to the group's deviation from the national accord, activities of Khilafatul Muslimin should be stopped, and its followers will be rehabilitated.

Meanwhile, Coordinating Minister of Political, Legal, and Security Affairs Mahfud MD affirmed that human rights would be respected while handling the pro-caliphate group case.
"We will crack down on Khilafatul Muslimin because they pose a threat to (Pancasila) ideology, but we will respect human rights because it is the duty of the government," the coordinating minister affirmed on Monday (June 20).
Earlier, Jakarta Police's General Criminal Investigation Directorate had revealed that Khilafatul Muslimin had established and managed educational institutions from the primary school to university levels.
The directorate’s head, Senior Commissioner Hengki Haryadi, remarked that educational institutions opened by the group aimed to disseminate pro-caliphate thoughts. The authorities closed down the schools and confiscated the educational institute’s certificates as the evidence of crime, he added.
Moreover, the Indonesian Police's anti-terror squad, Densus 88, is investigating the degree of involvement of the pro-caliphate group in terrorism.
The group advocated values that contradicted the state ideology of Pancasila, head of operational assistance of Densus 88, Senior Commissioner Aswin Siregar, had stated on Thursday (June 16).
The police continue to investigate whether their actions can be categorized as acts of terror, which are defined as the use of violence or threats of violence to realize goals and cause widespread fear, Siregar added.
