"The status (of FMD spread) in Jakarta is still green and safe from FMD," the governor stated during the launch of a program to support food needs here on Monday.
Meanwhile, another five thousand animals were still in the process of shipment to Jakarta.
Baswedan remarked that the total requirement for sacrificial animals for Eid al-Adha 1443 Hijriah/2022 AD was forecast to reach 47 thousand in Jakarta.
"The five thousand, which are on the way, are predicted to (complete the procedure) before Eid al-Adha," he stated.
Baswedan also lauded the Central Government for having created the program to support food requirements for regional and local governments, including Jakarta, as the first location.
He explained that 95 percent of the food requirements in Jakarta are supplied from outside the region. Meanwhile, he noted that Jakarta contributed significantly to the national economy, or about 18 percent.

To that end, he reminded that food supply needs should be guaranteed safe to maintain price stability.
According to the Jakarta governor, unmaintained food supplies in Jakarta would trigger national inflation, considering its major role in the country's economy.
"We can be more relaxed (if) the price is stable. If the price is stable, inflation can be controlled. If inflation in Jakarta is maintained with its 18-percent contribution to the national GDP, then the national inflation can be controlled as well," he explained.
Earlier, on July 1, Baswedan dispatched 865 officers to inspect the health of both livestock and sacrificial animals in all parts of Jakarta to ensure that the slaughter and sale activities adhered to the health protocols.
