Jakarta (ANTARA) - Vice President Ma'ruf Amin encouraged Indonesian children to uphold their spirit of learning and realizing their dreams and clocking several achievements on the occasion of this year's National Children's Day.

"To my children, Indonesian children, throughout the nation, keep on studying and maintaining your spirit to achieve your highest dreams. Make as many achievements as possible," Amin stated during his National Children's Day address observed here, Saturday.

The vice president encouraged Indonesian children to be creative by utilizing vast information and advanced technology, as Indonesia's future depends on the children that will be its successors.

He also reminded parents to nurture their children responsibly and ensure a safe, healthy, and conducive living environment to ensure Indonesian children will grow joyfully and become smart, resilient, tolerant, and noble people.

"We celebrate the 2022 National Children's Day as our commitment to honor, protect, and fulfil the rights of children as the nation's future generations," Amin remarked.

The vice president then conveyed greetings on the occasion of National Children's Day and prayed for God's blessings for every effort to develop the nation's children.

"We hope the Almighty God will bestow His grace to every effort that we make to prepare the Indonesian nation's golden generation for the future," he stated.

Meanwhile, President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) also emphasized that Indonesian children must be protected, and their rights must be fulfilled on this year's National Children's Day.

All parties must also ensure that Indonesian children will always be happy, grow as individuals with an independent spirit, and partake in the nation's development, he remarked.

This year's National Children's Day is organized under the "Child Protected, Indonesia Advanced" theme as an expression of hope that after the COVID-19 pandemic, the physical and mental health of Indonesian children will be protected and their rights fulfilled.
