Jakarta (ANTARA) - Tourism and Creative Economy Minister Sandiaga Uno swore in 60 officials, comprising supervisors, head of the acting authority division, and functional officials, to the ministry.

Uno asked the officials to be professional in fulfilling their tasks, such as public services, governmental duties, and development, and to conduct them optimally.

"I want to remind all officials, who are sworn in, that the duties onwards will be challenging, so (we always have to) improve knowledge and (skills) in each (expertise)," he stated at the Sapta Pesona Building, here, as quoted from an official statement on Wednesday.

Uno offered encouragement to the newly sworn-in officials, so they would commit to delivering their best while conducting their duties professionally as well as adapt to the developments in information technology.

"We all must be able to become pioneers, who can pursue the dissemination of (information on) communication and information technology, so we would be able to eliminate organizational bureaucracy gaps as well as simplify access and improve transparency in public services," he stated.

During the course of his duty as minister for 18 months, Uno had persistently striven to change the mindset of his staff members by employing three principles during day-to-day work of taking immediate actions, taking actions together, and seizing every online potential.

"We also have to give maximum contribution by giving excellent service and extra miles service to the stakeholders in each work unit, in accordance with each one's task and function, either service for internal or external (entities)," Minister Uno stated.

He also called on them to work as a team towards a collective goal and not merely to meet personal goals that included credit, promotion, or group.

The 60 officials included supervisors, head of the acting authority division, and functional officers. The others comprised two Supervisory Officers at the Bali Tourism Polytechnic, being the head of educators and student affairs sub-division and the head of the finance and household sub-division.

The officials also included head of the Borobudur authority division, 42 ministerial functional officers, nine lecturers as officers, three policy analyst officers, one auditor, one computer administration officer, and one planning officer.
