Jakarta (ANTARA) - As many as 50,857 COVID-19 patients in Indonesia were undergoing medical treatment as of Wednesday, the Task Force for COVID-19 Handling reported.



According to the task force's data, the number of daily active cases rose by 1,809 on Wednesday.



The country recorded 6,167 fresh COVID-10 infections in the 24 hours ended on Wednesday noon, taking the total number of confirmed cases to 6,222,788 across Indonesia.

Jakarta and West Java recorded the most confirmed cases of above 1 thousand each.



The data showed that the number of recoveries increased by 4,340 to reach 6,014,885, while the death toll increased by 18 to touch 157,046.

Meanwhile, the daily positivity rate for specimens was pegged at 10.27 percent, and the daily positivity rate for persons stood at 10.25 percent.



The number of specimens examined reached 122,536 on Wednesday, and the number of suspected COVID-19 cases was recorded at 7,595.
