Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Indonesian Talent Development Agency (BPTI) at the Education, Culture, Research, and Technology Ministry holds the 2022 National Science Olympics (OSN) for primary and middle school students on August 1-7, 2022, in a hybrid format.

The OSN is a platform for Indonesian children to know one another, gain new knowledge, and showcase their capabilities, the ministry's Secretary General, Suharti, noted through a written statement on Thursday.

Moreover, these children can utilize OSN as a platform to make new friends and build friendships, so that they can learn science together, she affirmed.

The ministry is committed to continuing to facilitate the nation's successors in innovating in science and technology. This commitment includes encouraging quality education access for Indonesian children across the country.

Suharti expects that someone from the 2022 OSN would go ahead to win the Science Nobel Prize in future.

Subjects in the 2022 OSN that the students participate in comprise mathematics and science for primary school pupils as well as social science being an additional subject for middle school students, with the test comprising theory and observation.

Head of the ministry's BPTI, Asep Sukmayadi, reported that starting from 2022, the OSN will be facilitated by the agency as the Technical Acting Unit (UPT) from the ministry's National Achievement Center (Puspresnas).
