Hopefully, we will complete the training by the end of 2022.Sepaku, Kaltim (ANTARA) - The authority of the new capital city (IKN) Nusantara in Sepaku, East Kalimantan, will train 1,535 out of a total of 9,300 construction workers for the first phase of infrastructure development at IKN.
"The total number of prospective workers who will be trained for infrastructure development at IKN reaches 9,300 people," deputy head of the IKN Authority, Dhony Rahajoe, informed at the opening of the "Construction Workforce Training and Certification in Preparation of IKN Infrastructure Development,” in Sepaku on Saturday.
At the opening of the hybrid training at Sepaku Dam-Semoi, he said that the construction of the IKN is in keeping with the vision of the first Indonesian President Sukarno, who is also referred to as Bung Karno, to shift the capital city.

Rahajoe outlined President Joko Widodo’s (Jokowi’s) three goals for developing IKN Nusantara. The first is to uphold the identity of the nation's diversity.
East Kalimantan province has always been a safe area with a diverse population made up of people from many ethnicities, such as the Javanese, Bugis, Kutai, Dayak, and others.
The second goal is to develop IKN Nusantara as a smart and sustainable city. Besides fulfilling human needs, the capital city's development is also aimed at maintaining flora, fauna, and other creatures so that they can live in harmony.

"The third goal is to grow another economic center outside Jakarta, namely in Kalimantan to bring equal welfare for everyone," Rahajoe explained.
Meanwhile, director of construction competence and productivity as well as head of the training organizer, Dedy Natrifahrizal, said that the training program for 9,300 workers is targeted to be complete by December 2022.
"For the first phase, we will train 1,535 people. The training will be carried out in five phases starting from today. Hopefully, we will complete the training by the end of 2022," Natrifahrizal informed.
The first training batch will comprise 817 workers from East Kalimantan who will receive construction training and certification, while the remaining 718 workers will undergo building infrastructure modeling training under the guidance of several Indonesian universities.
