Rahajoe outlined President Joko Widodo’s (Jokowi’s) three goals for developing IKN Nusantara. The first is to uphold the identity of the nation's diversity.

East Kalimantan province has always been a safe area with a diverse population made up of people from many ethnicities, such as the Javanese, Bugis, Kutai, Dayak, and others.

The second goal is to develop IKN Nusantara as a smart and sustainable city. Besides fulfilling human needs, the capital city's development is also aimed at maintaining flora, fauna, and other creatures so that they can live in harmony.
