Jakarta (ANTARA) - The National Public Procurement Agency (LKPP) is committed to accommodating and optimizing domestic products and involving micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) and cooperatives in the development of Nusantara Capital City (IKN).

"For instance, we do not need to import marble from abroad. Then, products used in IKN, such as air conditioner or AC and lamps, should be domestic products," Head of LKPP Azwar Anas noted.

"This is in accordance with President Jokowi's order, including involving Kalimantan's MSMEs and businesses," Anas noted through his statement on Tuesday.

One of the important aspects in the LKPP Regulation on procurement in IKN is the spirit of support to domestic products, MSMEs, and cooperatives, he highlighted.

This serves as proof that the development of Nusantara is not just physical relocation of the capital city, but, more importantly, also paradigm transformation on an inclusive Developed Indonesia, he explained.

This includes goods or service procurement that affects economic distribution through domestic products, MSMEs, and cooperatives, he affirmed.

The development of Nusantara can be the momentum for Indonesia to be able to revive from the economic slump amid the COVID-19 pandemic, so all parties must remain optimistic.

According to Anas, economic recovery is on track along with inflation control, rupiah exchange rate performance, and Indonesia's economic growth that is among the best in Asia.

This condition is an important momentum, as it can spark the spirit to make IKN as the driving force to realize economic equity, inclusive economy, and Indonesia-centric economy.

Currently, the LKPP continues to expedite the development of e-Katalog. Some 843,145 products are available in e-Catalog. The number of small- to medium-scale enterprises has reached 12,740, which exceeds the number of large-scale providers by 5,809 enterprises.

Earlier, the Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) Ministry launched Phase 1 of basic infrastructure development of the new capital (IKN) Nusantara, East Kalimantan, with the signing of contracts for 19 project packages in Jakarta on Monday.
