"Our manufacturing (industry) has a high level of resilience, showing that Indonesia is able to survive and continue to grow under any circumstances if the synergy between the government and business actors goes well," the minister said, according to a statement issued here on Tuesday.
Kartasasmita made the remarks during a discussion with business actors at the virtual National Coordination Working Meeting of the Indonesian Employers Association.
Indonesia is pursuing the target of emerging as one of the world's top ten economies by 2030, he pointed out.
"Indonesia wants to be a part of the global production network and global supply chain. We have carried out various multilateral and bilateral cooperations with business partners and country partners in the Asian region," he said.

According to the minister, based on the share of exports, each of the leading manufacturers in Asia, such as China, Singapore, Thailand, and the Philippines, is Indonesia’s competitor. In general, Indonesia's leading manufacturers have stronger competitiveness compared to these countries, he opined.
"After all, Indonesia must not lose. Indonesia has a much bigger capital than competing countries," he said.
All success begins from synergy, partnership, mutual cooperation, and most importantly, open and transparent communication between the government as a facilitator and regulator and the manufacturing sector as the main actor, he added.
"I urge you all to conduct a firsthand dialogue with us and express all the problems faced, both collectively per sector and individually per company," the minister said.
Kartasasmita further said that his ministry may not be able to provide answers to all problems on its own, but it is open to discussions, the exchange of ideas, inputs on policies that need to be taken to provide solutions, and providing assistance to the national manufacturing industry.
"We are very open to all concrete proposals because you are the ones who understand the problems faced in practice best, and what policies are needed to address these problems. Our commitment is to support the Indonesian manufacturing sector as much as possible," the minister added.
