Jakarta (ANTARA) - Second Deputy Minister of State-Owned Enterprises Kartika Wirjoatmodjo targets the operation of Jakarta Bandung Fast Train (KCJB) to commence in June 2023 following the first arrival of the train series in Indonesia on September 2.

"The target is to get it operational on June 2023," Wirjoatmodjo stated while witnessing the arrival of the inaugural Jakarta-Bandung high-speed train series at Tanjung Priok Port, Jakarta, on Friday.

He also noted that the trial for the high-speed train would be conducted in November 2022.

"Thank God, the first Jakarta-Bandung high-speed train series has arrived in Indonesia. The arrival of this high-speed train series is good news for Indonesia and shows that Indonesia can compete with other developed countries," he stated.

The Jakarta-Bandung high-speed train series arrived at the Tanjung Priok Port, Jakarta, on Friday. It was the first high-speed train series to arrive in Indonesia and the ASEAN.

President Director of PT KCIC Dwiyana Slamet Riyadi said that two trainsets or a series of high-speed trains had arrived at the Pier 200-2021 Tanjung Priok Non-Container Port.

The two trainsets in question comprised one series of inspection trains and one series of KCIC400AF fast trains for passengers.

The Jakarta-Bandung high-speed train series will be delivered in four batches. After the first arrival, there would be more to come on December 25, 2022; February 25, 2023; and March 15, 2023.

After arriving in Tanjung Priok, the entire series of KCIC400AF would be sent to the Tegalluar Depot. It would be reassembled into one unit.

The items would be delivered by land. In the process, PT KCIC had coordinated with some stakeholders, such as Pelindo and Jasa Marga.

The delivery process was conducted only from Monday to Thursday from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. local time, in which the traffic flow was not high. The delivery process to Tegalluar Depot is expected to not interfere with the traffic flow.
