"The G20 Presidency carries the theme 'Recover Together, Recover Stronger.' It would need collaboration and adequate human resources to develop global health security," Brodjonegoro noted at the T20 Indonesia Summit observed through the YouTube T20 Indonesia channel here on Tuesday.
He remarked that Indonesia has the potential to develop green pharmacy by improving the quality of environment-friendly medicines.
Through its G20 Presidency, Indonesia should become a model in the development of phytopharmacy as part of the green pharmacy concept.

"This is a promising future for (the development of) health resilience in countrieswith low capability to produce healthcare products and high import," he remarked.
The former head of the National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN) said, the high import of medicine raw materials under an emergency situation, such as the COVID-19 pandemic, could disturb the state's financial position.
"This has raised global awareness on the problem of chemical-based medicine supply. Hence, green pharmacy can help in solving the problem," he added.
Green pharmacy is the design of pharmaceutical products and processes that eliminate or reduce significantly the use and generation of hazardous substances and the prevention of environmental and health impacts at the source.
Director of Research & Business Development of Dexa Group Dr Raymond Tjandrawinata stated that green pharmacy would improve public health and lifestyle, and it is more environmentally friendly.

Phytopharmacy would not only offer benefits to patients but also to farmers providing the raw material, Tjandrawinata remarked.
Currently, only 1.2 to three percent of doctors in hospitals have prescribed phytopharmaceutical medicines, he stated.
According to Tjandrawinata, phytopharmacy is an evidence-based medicine that is not less effective than chemical-based products, and doctors can prescribe the medicine for patients.
T20 is a cooperation forum for think tanks and researchers across G20 member countries. Group 20, or G20, is a multilateral cooperation group that comprises 19 countries and the European Union (EU).
