"As public servants, civil servants in the industrial revolution 4.0 era should be able to respond to technological development that currently enters the challenge of the disruptive innovation phenomenon," BKKBN Main Secretary Tavip Agus Rayanto stated.
Some 333 civil servants in the agency participated in the basic training, he remarked here on Monday.
The BKKBN trains 276 people from the third batch and 57 people from the second batch as an effort to form a strong, professional civil servant foundation.
The training is held on September 9-December 26, 2022, through distance learning due to COVID-19.
The training will necessitate all civil servants to have digital literacy, so they can be active, adaptive, flexible, and always keen to follow technological developments.
This aligns with State Administration Institution Regulation No. 10 of 2021.
Training participants will be urged to actively participate in every stage of the training by optimizing the utilization of information and communication technology, Rayanto stated.
Moreover, this participation is combined with the learning process that is nationally integrated within the State Civil Apparatus' (ASN's) competence development information system developed by the State Administration Institution, he stated.
Improving participants' digital literacy is also followed by the formation of the civil servant character that is focused on four agendas.
These agendas comprise readiness to defend the country, civil servants' core values agenda, civil servants' role to support the realization of smart governance, and habituation.

The BKKBN also forms the civil servants' foundational value with the ASN Core Value unveiled by President Joko Widodo in 2021, specifically BerAKHLAK (Service, Accountable, Competent, Harmonic, Loyal, Adaptive, and Collaborative-oriented).
He expects that the internalization of this core value can boost the individuals' competence and work achievements.
Moreover, it is expected to support BKKBN's public service to the people in accordance with ASN's employer branding of "Proud to Serve the Nation", he stated.
