The PeduliLindungi application is currently transitioning into a public health application, which, in the future, will present various other health features other than those related to COVID-19
Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Health Ministry has simplified access to the PeduliLindungi application for users in public spaces by allowing web check-ins through the mobile browser feature on smartphones.

"We have added a QR code scan feature on the www.pedulilindungi.id website, which can be used as an alternative by the public to check-in to public spaces," chief of the Digital Transformation Office of the Health Ministry, Setiaji, informed in Jakarta on Tuesday.

The web check-in feature is aimed at answering the needs of people who are constrained in accessing applications due to device and memory limitations, he added. Therefore, the alternative feature will help users to easily scan the QR code and check in without opening the application.

Setiaji said he hopes that the new feature will encourage people to remain disciplined in checking in to public spaces as part of efforts to prevent the transmission of COVID-19.

He also advised users who already have the application on their phones to continue using the application in their daily activities.

"The PeduliLindungi application is currently transitioning into a public health application, which, in the future, will present various other health features other than those related to COVID-19," he said.

He then outlined the steps for checking in to the PeduliLindungi application using a mobile browser.

In general, the check-in process on the mobile browser is not very different from the app.

First, users need to open the www.pedulilindungi.id site via a mobile browser, then register or log in with a registered account.

Next, they need to click on the 'Check-in' button on the front page and point their phone camera at the QR code until the check-in is successful.

Users can then show the color status of the check-in results to the officer. Check-out can be done manually or automatically after 12 hours of check-in.

After that, users will be asked to log back in to carry out the next check-in.

However, there are several drawbacks to the mobile browser check-in, namely, it does not allow group check-ins, offline check-ins, and does not provide the option to delete check-in history, which are all allowed on the PeduliLindungi mobile app.
