Jakarta (ANTARA) - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) officially appointed Hendrar Prihadi as head of the National Public Procurement Agency (LKPP) at the State Palace here on Monday.

The inauguration was held in accordance with Presidential Decree No. 125/TPA on officialization of the appointment of a high-position leadership official within the LKPP.

"Appointing Dr Hendrar Prihadi as head of the National Public Procurement Agency, valid from the time of inauguration, and to him is given ministerial-level rights and facilities in accordance with the laws and regulations," Deputy for Administration of the Cabinet Secretariat Farid Utomo stated while reading out the decree.

The presidential decree was ratified on October 10, 2022, in Jakarta, and Prihadi, led by Jokowi, took the oath of office as LKPP head.

"In God's name, I swear that I will be loyal and obedient to the 1945 Constitution of the Republic of Indonesia and carry out the laws and regulations as true as possible for my devotion to the nation and state," Prihadi stated in his oath, led by President Jokowi.

Prihadi also vowed to fulfill his duties and positions and uphold the ethics of office.

"Work as well as possible, and with a full sense of responsibility, that I will maintain integrity, not abuse authority and abstain from despicable acts," he stated.

At the inauguration, some officials that were present comprised Vice President Ma'ruf Amin, fifth President of Indonesia and chair of the Pancasila Ideology Education Agency (BPIP) steering committee Megawati Soekarnoputi, State Secretary Minister Pratikno, Home Affairs Minister Tito Karnavian, and Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan.

Prihadi replaced the earlier Head of LKPP, Azwar Anas, who had been appointed as Minister of State Apparatus Empowerment and Bureaucratic Reform (MenPAN-RB) on September 7, 2022.

Meanwhile, the LKPP has several functions that encompassed preparing and formulating strategies of policies and standard procedures as well as supporting human resource development in the field of government procurement of goods and services.
