Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Ministry of Communication and Informatics collaborates with the Ministry of Health to usher in improvements in the digital literacy skills of 21 thousand State Civil Apparatuses (ASNs) through the medium of training.

"The Ministry of Health has a health digital transformation strategy projected for 2021-2024 for an optimal technology-based health service," Secretary General at the Ministry of Health Kunta Wibawa noted through a statement, Monday.

"Hence, this necessitates ASNs to have adequate digital literacy capability. ASNs are expected to understand the four pillars of digital literacy," he stated.

Every ASN in the Ministry of Health is expected to utilize digital technology in line with the regulation.

Moreover, ASNs should have a broad understanding of when and how technology should be utilized to boost work efficacy to achieve the Ministry of Health's goal.

Informatics Empowerment Director at the Ministry of Communication and Informatics Bonifasius Wahyu Pudjianto spotlighted adaptation as being crucial for ASNs in Indonesia to adjust to the currently occurring technological developments.

"The COVID-19 pandemic that we experienced in 2020-2021 was very dynamic and forced people to adapt to the changes," he explained.

The current challenge in the digital era involves developing comprehensive, integral, holistic, and systemic work and thinking patterns of ASNs by improving the capability to master technology, he noted.

Concurrently, ASNs should continue to prioritize integrity, professionalism, and service in connection with competency and performance development, he affirmed.

ASN Competency Development Center Head at the Ministry of Health Trisa Wahyuni Putri expects that the collaboration can boost understanding and human resources toward supporting digital transformation.

Several materials provided in the training included the four pillars of digital literacy: digital ethics, digital culture, digital security, and digital skills.

Government Sector's Digital Literacy Activity is one of the series of activities under the Indonesia Makin Cakap Digital (Indonesia Becoming More Digitally Skilled) Program initiated by the Ministry of Communication and Informatics.

The program aims to provide digital literacy to 50 million Indonesians by 2024.
