DRPPA is a form of synergy and collaboration between various parties in implementing the president’s five directives to KPPPA
Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Women-friendly and Child-nurturing Village (DRPPA) Program is an effort to implement five directives of President Joko Widodo (Jokowi), Women's Empowerment and Child Protection Minister Bintang Puspayoga stated.



"DRPPA is a form of synergy and collaboration between various parties in implementing the president’s five directives to KPPPA," Puspayoga remarked at the signing of the commitment with the DRPPAs of Indramayu and Cirebon districts here on Wednesday.



According to Puspayoga, the president’s five directives are: women's empowerment in the field of entrepreneurship with a gender perspective, increasing the role of mothers and families in child care and education, reducing violence against women and children, reducing the number of child labor, and preventing child marriage.

These five priority issues are also included in the DRPPA indicator.



Puspayoga stated that DRPPA is a program that integrates gender perspectives and the fulfillment of children's rights in the development of villages, village governance, as well as enriching and empowering women and children in villages. The DRPPA is implemented through a planned, comprehensive, and sustainable approach.



Moreover, the minister explained that efforts to empower women and fulfill children's rights are long-term and took extended periods of time to realize.

This considered the data and indices, such as the Human Development Index (HDI), Gender Development Index (IPG), Gender Empowerment Index (IDG), and Labor Force Participation Rate (TPAK), she remarked.



"Hence, it is important to realize a women-friendly and child-nurturing strategy that we start from the grassroots level," she emphasized.



The villages in the districts of Indramayu and Cirebon that become the pilot of the DRPPA program are Singaraja, Majasih, Purbawinangun, and Babakan Gebang.



Moreover, four other villages in Cirebon had started DRPPA independently.
