The availability of rooms in star-rated hotels, non-star-rated hotels, and homestays is around 21 thousand, based on data of mapping conducted during the 2021 MotoGP
Mataram, West Nusa Tenggara (ANTARA) - Head of the Tourism Office of West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) Yusron Hadi has expressed optimism of achieving the target of 50 thousand spectators for the World Superbike (WSBK) event.

The WSBK is scheduled to be held at the Pertamina Mandalika International Street Circuit, West Nusa Tenggara, on November 11-13, 2022.

"Insha Allah (God willing), it (the target) will be achieved because there will be local spectators from NTB. Moreover, the ticket price is (discounted at) 50 percent (for spectators from NTB)," he noted here on Tuesday.

According to Hadi, so far, 20 thousand spectators from outside NTB had bought WSBK tickets. Thus, it can be assumed that if each lodging room can accommodate two people, then the number of rooms that should be prepared to accommodate the spectators is around 10 thousand.

"The availability of rooms in star-rated hotels, non-star-rated hotels, and homestays is around 21 thousand, based on data of mapping conducted during the 2021 MotoGP," he said.

He further noted that 40 to 50 percent of hotel rooms in the three main lodging areas of Mataram city, Mandalika, and Senggigi areas are still available. Moreover, several hotels in East Lombok and other regions are also ready to accommodate spectators.

To this end, he opined that WSBK spectators need not harbor concerns since hotels are ready to welcome them.

He stated that several hotels in Senggigi, Mandalika, and Mataram are also offering travel packages.

"Inshallah, during the WSBK, (hotels) will be occupied," he said.

Regarding the potential increase in hotel room prices, he affirmed that currently, the prices in Senggigi, Mataram, and Mandalika are still relatively normal.

"Even if there is an increase in prices, it is reasonable. The increase is very normal," he remarked.
