"The ToT is (held) to produce reliable trainers to strengthen human resources and business players in the tourism and creative economy sectors (especially) in the six priority tourism destinations," Ministry's Deputy for Resources and Institutions, Martini Mohamad Paham, remarked at the ToT implementation in Yogyakarta on Saturday.
The ToT held in Yogyakarta provided training for 110 prospective trainers, comprising 64 prospective online marketing trainers and 46 prospective service quality trainers.
The six priority tourism destinations are Lake Toba in North Sumatra, Borobudur-Yogyakarta-Prambanan in Central Java, Bromo-Tengger-Semeru in East Java, Labuan Bajo in East Nusa Tenggara, Lombok in West Nusa Tenggara, and Wakatobi in Southeast Sulawesi.
Paham expects tourism business players to utilize the opportunity of the increasing number of foreign tourist visits to Indonesia.
The Tourism and Creative Economy Ministry also strives to provide support to business actors in terms of optimizing digital technology in communicating their products and services and improving the quality of business services.
Tourist perceptions will shift, especially in terms of the aspects of cleanliness, health, safety, and environmental sustainability, Paham stated.
Hence, through the Integrated and Sustainable Tourism Development Program (P3TB), the ministry encourages business actors to upgrade themselves by participating in online marketing training and service quality improvement programs.
The materials include government policies, trainer ethics, micro-teaching, online marketing, and quality and service.
The learning method comprises presentations, discussions, questions and answers (Q&A) sessions, and practices by presenting master trainers and practitioners.
"This training is developed to equip participants with knowledge and skills, so that they have the capacity to market their business by utilizing digital technology, through the materials of digital mindset, digital toolset, and digital skillset," Paham stated.
