Denpasar, Bali (ANTARA) - State-run electricity provider PT PLN (Persero) is striving to mitigate a variety of potential disruptions that could affect the implementation of the G20 Summit in Nusa Dua, Bali Province, on November 15–16, 2022.

"To detect unwanted disturbances, PLN has carried out electricity security simulations at various strategic locations," president director of PLN, Darmawan Prasodjo, informed in a statement issued here on Saturday.

He said that the company has prepared 66 electric vehicle charging stations (SPKLUs) to serve 636 electric vehicles that will be used at the summit.

"In addition, there are 200 home charging facilities,” he added.

Furthermore, to ensure the suitability of the inlets or charging ports of each vehicle with the nozzles or connectors at each SPKLU, PLN will provide several types of ultra-fast SPKLUs and station a number of officers to serve customers at each charging station.

"We have 150 personnel who will be on standby 24 hours, on-site, to help (customers) recharge the batteries of electric vehicles," the PLN president director informed.

He said that the systems at SPKLUs have been integrated with the PLN Mobile application, which will monitor the performance of each charging facility.

PLN is also seeking to ensure electricity supply reliability from the upstream to downstream sectors by establishing an electricity monitoring system, which will cover generators, transmission grids, as well as SPKLUs.

In addition, the Presidential Security Detail (Paspampres) will conduct a final trial of SPKLUs.

The charging stations have been prepared at several locations across Bali province, including at the state-run Indonesia Tourism Development Corporation (ITDC) complex and the Apurva Kempinski Hotel.

PT PLN has readied 1,422 megawatts (MW) of electricity to support the implementation of the G20 Summit.

As much as 952 MW of electricity will be provided by a number of power plants in the province.

In addition, 370 MW of electricity will be secured through the transfer of electricity from power plants in Java region through the High Voltage Sea Cable Channels (SKLT) and 100 MW through the relocation of supply from the Grati Gas Power Plant (PLTG).
