Perception of the global community towards Indonesia has been well. Hence, do not let our hard work in building the good perception crumble because we cannot maintain our stability properly.
Nusa Dua, Bali (ANTARA) - Investment Minister Bahlil Lahadalia emphasized that investment prospects in 2023 will still be quite good, albeit should be supported by stability of the national economy, politics, and security.

"I see a high potential for economic investment. However, I am worried about stability in 2023,” the minister stated at a media gathering here on Monday.

Lahadalia emphasized that even if there is good potential for investment, he was yet unsure that Indonesia can optimize the opportunity if it fails to maintain its stability in those three sectors.

The minister noted that global economic conditions, as forecast by several parties, is threatened with a decline.

Hence, support from all stakeholders, including the community, is needed to maintain stability in Indonesia, especially considering that Indonesia is currently recording increasing economic growth despite the uncertain global situation, the minister stressed.

"Perception of the global community towards Indonesia has been well. Hence, do not let our hard work in building the good perception crumble because we cannot maintain our stability properly,” he remarked.

The minister assessed that maintaining economic, political, and security stability is important, especially to draw more investment since it is one of the instruments for creating more job opportunities and improve the community’s welfare.

"Investment is (also) an instrument to realize an equitable distribution of economic growth, from Aceh to Papua, as well as to increase economic growth, state income, and national competitiveness," he noted.

Lahadalia recorded that 63.3 percent of the foreign investment in the third quarter of 2022 was realized in the industrial sector, thereby indicating that investment had helped to create a value add for Indonesia coupled with increasing the trust of global business players in Indonesia.

Furthermore, the minister noted that currently, Indonesia was one of the main foreign investment destinations, as during the last four days, he had been able to meet with nine to 10 investors per day.
