Jokowi also handed over the G20 Presidency gavel to Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the ceremony, marking the end of Indonesia's G20 Presidency.
"Marking the end of Indonesia's Presidency in the G20, I (am) officially handing over the leadership to India as the next holder of the G20 Presidency," Jokowi stated in his remarks during the G20 Summit closing ceremony.
Jokowi appealed to G20 leaders to support India as the next holder of the G20 Presidency. He also expressed confidence that the G20 will continue to make progress under India's Presidency.
The president affirmed Indonesia's readiness, as part of the G20 Troika with Italy, to support India's Presidency.
"We arrived at the end of the G20 Summit. Once again, I express my gratitude to your excellencies and bid all of you a safe trip. I hereby declare the G20 Summit in Bali, Indonesia, concluded," Jokowi remarked.
Before its conclusion, Indonesia, as the holder of the G20 Presidency, successfully led the G20 Summit to ratify the leaders' declaration.
As per the declaration document received here, Wednesday, G20 heads of states agreed to emphasize the need to enforce international laws and the multilateral system, handle economic crises through macro-international policies cooperation, strive for food and energy resilience, and adopt digital technology.
Moreover, G20 leaders also called for a joint commitment to achieve Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), address climate change, and bolster the global healthcare sector.
In addition, G20 leaders welcomed efforts promoted by Indonesia, as the holder of the G20 Presidency, to designate priority issues and coordinate international cooperation between member states, invited countries, and international cooperations.
In 2021, Indonesia received the G20 Presidency from its previous holder Italy. With the theme of "Recover Together, Recover Stronger," Indonesia designated the three priority issues of global healthcare architecture, energy transition, and digital transformation for its G20 Presidency.
