Investment has created jobs for new job seekers, absorbing around 307 thousand workersJakarta (ANTARA) - Special Staff of the Minister of Finance for Regional Fiscal Policy Formulation Titik Anas stated that investment entering Indonesia had succeeded in absorbing 307 thousand workers.
"Investment has created jobs for new job seekers, absorbing around 307 thousand workers," Anas noted at The 1st International Student Leaders Meeting 2022 in Jakarta, Tuesday.
Anas said Indonesia was a strong country in attracting investment during the COVID-19 pandemic, especially until the third quarter of 2022.
She explained that direct investment in the third quarter of 2022 strengthened against total direct investment in Indonesia, which was recorded at Rp307 trillion, or 42 percent higher than the same period last year.
Meanwhile, foreign investment increased by 63.6 percent, reflecting that Indonesia is not only receiving investment from within the country but also from other countries.
Anas said the performance of direct investment indicated that the Indonesian market was still attractive amid global risks.
Hence, Anas has ensured that economic growth prospects in 2022 were quite strong and will continue, as Indonesia still has a quarter left till the year ended.
"Hence, we are one of what we call the shining light around the world from the emerging countries," she noted.
