Jakarta (ANTARA) - Finance Minister Sri Mulyani Indrawati has informed that her ministry is still determining how state assets (BMN) vacated by ministries and institutions shifting to the new capital Nusantara (IKN) will be managed.

"This will require planning, detailed communication with ministries and institutions, as well as the transfer strategy itself, and its implications for abandoned state assets," Indrawati observed after the Reksa Bandha Award here on Wednesday.

She said she will continue to work with the IKN Nusantara Authority to ensure the new capital's readiness before the employees of ministries and institutions move there from Jakarta.

Cooperation between ministries and institutions that will continue to manage BMN in Jakarta will also be carried out.

"They should be responsible for managing state assets even during the transfer (period)," Indrawati said.

According to her, based on Law No. 3 of 2022 concerning the National Capital, the BMN will be managed centrally by the Finance Ministry.

"There, we will explore together with ministries and institutions, and listen to feedback from various players and markets about the best strategy to manage BMN or state assets," she said.

The process of transferring BMN management will be carried out in conjunction with the development of IKN Nusantara so that the BMN in Jakarta are not abandoned.

Earlier, the government issued Ministerial Regulation No. 139 of 2022, which stipulates facilities for the preparation and implementation of transactions of BMN utilization and/or BMN handover in the context of preparation, development, and transfer of IKN.

Indrawati said the management of state assets will continue to be developed to provide added value to the state.

"The value (of state assets) in the balance sheet is only one thing, but the assets are managed differently and will continue to be explored to add value to the state," she informed.

Based on the Central Government Financial Report of 2021, the value of state assets reached Rp11,454.67 trillion, a growth of 44.7 percent compared to 2018.
