Jakarta (ANTARA) - Seventy percent of residential areas in the Central Government Area (KIPP) of Indonesia’s future capital (IKN) Nusantara will be earmarked for civil servants, military, and police officers, the National Development Planning Ministry has informed.

"For housing, there will be residences for ASN (civil servants) and non-ASN -- 70 percent of them will be for ASN, military-police (officers), and state officials," main expert for functional planning at the ministry Hayu Parasati said during a virtual discussion on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, the remaining 30 percent will be allocated as housing for the general public, she informed.

"It (the residential plan) will be only implemented at the KIPP of IKN. We still have (housing) areas in the west, east, as well as north of IKN -- and there will be a lot of public housing there," she said.

The residential plans at KIPP will be developed according to the designs for the allocation of space for landed houses, medium-populated vertical residences, and mixed-use dwellings.

The construction of the residential areas will also be based on the plans to provide basic infrastructure for settlements as well as green and blue open spaces.

The area and the design of the residential units for state officials, ASN, military personnel, and police officers have been regulated in the IKN Law. They will also be further regulated and determined by the IKN Authority.

Meanwhile, the plans for government offices, facilities, and infrastructure development will refer to the KIPP Government Area Development Plan, which contains the Building and Environmental Planning Plan (RTBL) and the Urban and Land Development Planning.

The location for each ministry and government institution’s office -- except for the presidential palace, vice president's palace, legislative complex, judicial complex, and coordinating ministry complexes -- will be determined by head of the IKN Authority, Bambang Susantono, based on several considerations.

As per the plan, the coordinating ministries would have a sharing office in the early stages of KIPP development.
