Jakarta (ANTARA) - Tourism and Creative Economy Minister Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno commended MSMEs that had promoted domestic-made guitars to international audiences.

Luna Guitarworks received a positive response not only on a national scale but also internationally. According to the minister, this is testament to the fact that original Indonesian products have quality that could compete on a global scale.

"I give my greatest commendation to Luna Guitarworks for promoting authentic Indonesian guitar boutique to the world through the unique guitar designs they make," the minister stated in an official broadcast on Tuesday.

He expects the achievements of this MSME to inspire others to continue working to advance Indonesia's creative economy.

The ministry would continue to support and promote various creative economic products in the country, he stated.

They would also continue to improve creative economy actors to develop by utilizing technology and encourage them by facilitating creative economy products to be promoted on a global scope.

"In addition, creative economy actors usually face obstacles in licensing as well as capital. We will also facilitate this," he noted.

Luna Guitarworks was founded by Tatag Bintara Yudha in 2016. This business began from his concern, since at that time, not many people created domestic guitars.

Guitars produced by Luna Guitarworks are custom-made based on orders received and are handmade. The process takes from two months to a year.

Luna Guitarworks' customers also vary, ranging from musicians, such as the Lilo KLa project, BIP guitarists, Jazz bass player Franky Sadikin, to several officials, such as Cooperatives and SMEs Minister Teten Masduki, Chief of the Presidential Staff Moeldoko, and Chairman of the People's Consultative Assembly Bambang Soesatyo.

Other buyers that came were from other countries, such as the United States, London, Canada, Turkey, and Japan. Overseas musicians, include Jon Bodan and Beyonce's guitarist.

Director of culinary, craft, design, and fashion at the Tourism and Creative Economy Ministry Yuke Sri Rahayu said that her administration would support and collaborate with Luna Guitarworks.

"Hopefully, in future, we can collaborate," Rahayu stated.

Founder of Luna Guitarworks Tatag Bintara Yudha lauded the ministry's support in promoting the country's creative economy products.

"I want to say that the products of the citizens are the best, and there is already a market for them overseas. Indonesia does not lack resources. We have bargaining (position) as the product of the citizens," he stated.
