In pushing gender-perspective entrepreneurship, we realize it to the village levelJakarta (ANTARA) - The Women's Empowerment and Child Protection Ministry produces women entrepreneurs from the village level through the Women and Child Friendly Village (DRPPA) strategy, Ministry's Gender Mainstreaming in the Economic Sector Assistant Deputy Eni Widiyanti stated.
"In pushing gender-perspective entrepreneurship, we realize it to the village level," she noted at a national webinar titled "Optimizing Women's Potential in Gender Perspective Entrepreneurship" here, Tuesday.
The ministry trained 40 women in villages that have met the requirements as DRPPA to become entrepreneurs, she noted.

"In every village, 40 people are gathered, whether they already have a business or they are seasonal (entrepreneurs), and then they are given entrepreneurship training with a gender perspective approach," she explained.
This training includes materials on ways to handle families or husbands, so that they encourage their wives to conduct economic activities, she added.
DRPPA integrates gender and children's rights perspective into village governance and development as well as for the villagers' guidance and empowerment.
The ministry has set several benchmarks of success for the development of DRPPA.

These encompass rising number of women entrepreneurs in villages, increasing participation of women and children in the village development process, amping up the role of mothers and families in child parenting and education, and ensuring no child workers.
On the occasion, Widyanti also expressed optimism that women-owned micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in Indonesia would survive amid the shadow of potential recession in 2023.
In 2020, Indonesia experienced a recession. However, Indonesia managed to revive and recover its economy in large part due to support from MSMEs, she noted.
When COVID-19 struck in 2020, several husbands faced workplace termination. The ones who became the families' saviors were ultimately the wives, who conducted economic activities, she explained.
