We suggest that the Lake Sentarum Festival be hosted at the same time with a long holiday, so that more tourists will visit; either regional and national and even foreign touristsKapuas Hulu, West Kalimantan (ANTARA) - The Tourism and Creative Economy Ministry stated that the Lake Sentarum Festival hosted in Kapuas Hulu District, West Kalimantan, could boost the community's economic growth.
"The Lake Sentarum Festival is a pride, a tradition that is maintained and has the potential to grow the Kapuas Hulu tourism economy," strategic coordinator and communication for natural, cultural, and artificial tourism at the Tourism and Creative Economy Ministry Firnandi Ghufron stated at Lanjak Kapuas Hulu, here on Thursday evening .
Ghufron noted that the festival was included in the Charisma Agenda of the Archipelago Calendar that should be promoted extensively to attract more tourists to visit Kapuas Hulu District.

According to Ghufron, the ministry was highly supportive of the development of tourism potential in Kapuas Hulu, with the objective of boosting the community's economic growth.
"We suggest that the Lake Sentarum Festival be hosted at the same time with a long holiday, so that more tourists will visit; either regional and national and even foreign tourists," he remarked.
He said the people of Kapuas Hulu were traditionally abundant and that it could be a matter of pride to tap into the cultural traditions for the development of tourism potential, including in West Kalimantan.
"Continue to pursue good-quality tourism in Kapuas Hulu, as it has vast potential to develop the tourism economy in the community," he noted.

During the festival, his entourage included Head of Kapuas Hulu District Francis Diaan and West Kalimantan Provincial Government officials and guests that were greeted with a traditional procession of Dayak Iban, Malay, and Dayak Tamambaloh.
The Lake Sentarum Festival is hosted in Lanjak, Batang Lupar Sub-district, the area which borders Indonesia and Malaysia, in the Kapuas Hulu District, West Kalimantan. The festival will take place on December 1-4, 2022.
Lake Sentarum is included in the national park area that has a natural panorama spanning upon the northern cross of Kapuas Hulu Regency and directly borders with Malaysia.
