“Hopefully, we can fully operate the Cisumdawu at the end of this February,” he said during a work meeting with Commission V of the House of Representatives in Jakarta on Tuesday.
Hadimuljono further said that he will try to make the Cisumdawu Toll Road operational by the end of February.
The ministry is encouraging the Toll Road Business Agency (BUJT) to accelerate the construction of the toll road, which is located in West Java province.
The completion of the 62-kilometer Cisumdawu Toll Road is expected to support the operational effectiveness of Kertajati Airport and Patimban Port and economic development in Pantura region, from Cirebon, Indramayu, Majalengka, to Kuningan (Ciayu Majakuning) in West Java.
The Cisumdawu Toll Road comprises 6 sections that are being built under a public-private partnership (KPBU) scheme at a cost of Rp5.5 trillion. Of the 6 sections, Sections 1 and 2 are being built by the government using the Viability Gap Fund (VGF) to increase the investment feasibility of the toll road. Sections 3 to 6 are being constructed by the Toll Road Business Agency PT Citra Karya Jabar Tol (CKJT).
Section 1 from Cileunyi to Pamulihan, spanning 11.45 km, has been operational since January 2022, and the construction of Section 2 from Pamulihan to Sumedang, measuring 17.05 km in length, has reached 94.7 percent completion, with the slope and landscape work yet to be completed.
Meanwhile, Sections 3 to 6 being built by BUJT span a total of 33.21 km. Section 3 from Sumedang to Cimalaka spans 4.05 km and is 100 percent complete. As for the 8.20-km Section 4 from Cimalaka to Legok, the construction of Section 4A is 87.93 percent complete and Section 4B is 58 percent finished.
Section 5 from Legok to Ujungjaya measures 14.9 km in length. The construction of Section 5A is 60.9 percent and 5B is 63 percent complete. As for Section 6 from Ujungjaya to Dawuan, the construction of 6A has reached 98.2 percent completion and 6B has been finished.
One of the challenges faced in the construction of Sections 2 to 5 of the Cisumdawu Toll Road has been handling slopes with high landslide vulnerability. So far, several measures have been taken to make the slopes more gentle, such as digging or re-grading of the soil, strengthening of slopes, building of wells with a pump system, and adding of land.
