Jakarta (ANTARA) - Manpower Ministry (Kemnaker) lauded the House of Representatives' (DPR's) Legislative Body for agreeing on the Stipulation of Government Regulation in Lieu of Law or Perppu Number 2 of 2022 on Job Creation to become law.

"Improving the substance of employment contained in Perppu Number 2 of 2022 is actually the government's endeavor to provide adaptive protection for workers or laborers in facing increasingly dynamic employment challenges," Secretary General of Kemnaker Anwar Sanusi noted in a statement in Jakarta on Thursday.

After approval from the Legislative Body of the DPR during a work meeting on February 15, 2023, the new regulation will be submitted to the next stage through level II talks or plenary sessions.

Sanusi noted that after the regulation is agreed upon during a plenary session, Kemnaker will immediately conduct intensive outreach to the public to ensure no further misperceptions

He explained that Perppu Number 2 of 2022 generally contained the same material as that of the Job Creation Law.

Some of the changes are only to the substance of the workforce, one of them being article 64 regarding outsourcing that regulates provisions on some aspects of the implementation of work in other companies, wherein some facets of the implementation of the work will be stipulated by the government in a Governmental Regulation (PP).

Moreover, there are changes to the phrase imperfect to disability that is contained in article 67 and the minimum wage regulated in articles 88C, 88D, 88F, and article 92.

Sanusi further noted that his side had intensively disseminated information on the Job Creation Perppu to employment stakeholders, including the Indonesian Employers' Association (Apindo), trade unions or labor unions, the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin), Manpower departments across Indonesia, and press members, both online and offline.

He noted that during today's plenary meeting, several factions present had also expressed their rejection.

"This rejection can serve as a valuable input for the government, because later, it can also be used as an input that can be implemented in derivative regulations from government regulations," Sanusi added.
