Jakarta (ANTARA) - State-owned postal company PT Pos Indonesia has readied more than 10 thousand vehicles for the distribution of government food assistance to 21.3 million beneficiaries across the country.

"All vehicles of Pos Indonesia will be involved in the distribution. We have more than 10 thousand," Pos Indonesia's director for courier and logistic businesses Siti Choiriana said here on Wednesday.

Those vehicles vary from trucks, and cars, to motorcycles, she added.

Apart from maximizing the use of its logistics vehicles, Pos Indonesia is also collaborating with other logistics service providers to prepare services well.

"For example, with airlines, we are collaborating with Lion, Garuda, Citilink, and Trigana," she said.

For sea transport, Pos Indonesia is collaborating with state-run ferry operator PT ASDP Indonesia Ferry, state-run port operator PT Pelindo Indonesia, and state-run ferry operator PT Pelni.

Meanwhile, for land transport, it is collaborating with state-owned railway company PT Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI) and state-owned public transportation operator PT Damri.

With the optimization of vehicles and Pos Indonesia's experience in distributing aid, the assistance would be received by beneficiaries, including those in underdeveloped, frontier, and outermost (3T) regions, in accordance with data from the Ministry of Social Affairs, Choiriana assured.

Pos Indonesia has also provided access to its dashboard to relevant stakeholders so that they can access the latest information regarding aid distribution.

The Ministry of Social Affairs has provided data on 21.353 million assistance beneficiaries that have been recorded in the integrated social welfare data (DTKS).

The government's food assistance, which will be provided to 21.3 million beneficiaries, is in the form of a 10kg rice package.

Apart from rice, the government will also provide chicken meat and eggs assistance. However, not all of the 21.3 million beneficiaries will receive the assistance as it is only targeted at 2 million beneficiaries.
