Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Coordinating Ministry for Human Development and Culture urged parents to provide early education on the importance of Clean and Healthy Lifestyle (PHBS) to their children.

"Parents should provide education to their children on the importance of maintaining their personal and environmental health through PHBS," Health Service Improvement Assistant Deputy at the Ministry Nia Reviani noted here, Monday.

Parents can make the most of the holy month of Ramadan to intensify education to their family members on the benefits of PHBS.

"Children are the nation's successors, who should be given an example of clean and healthy lifestyle early on," she emphasized.

"By implementing PHBS throughout Ramadan, parents indirectly provide education to children on the importance of PHBS," she emphasized.

Examples set by parents will be more meaningful than an advice or words, she stated.

"If parents consistently implement the PHBS practice in their daily activities, they will be a good example for children," she stressed.

Implementation of clean and healthy lifestyle throughout Ramadan can also have a positive impact on the surrounding environment.

Actions that can have a positive impact on the environment include not littering, cleaning places of worship or other public places, and participating in community cleanup, she highlighted.

The ministry continues to push to optimize the dissemination of information and education on the importance of PHBS implementation, so that it can become a lifestyle among members of the public.

Implementing PHBS during Ramadan is also important to improve the quality of life as a Muslim, given that the holy month is filled with blessings, she stated.

PHBS is a set of behaviors practiced by an individual or group to improve their health to realize better productivity and quality of life, she noted.
