If the flight operator is found to have violated the TBA/TBB provisions, we will immediately impose sanctions in accordance with the applicable regulations
Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Indonesian Transportation Ministry has urged all airports to inform about airplane ticket rates during the 2023 Eid al-Fitr homecoming period.

The ministry's Director General of Air Transportation, Maria Kristi Endah Murni, urged the Airport Management Unit (UPBU) and Airport Business Entities (BUBU) to give clear information to users about air transportation services regarding the ceiling tariff (TBA) and floor tariff (TBB) for all flight routes.

"Please use clear information media to air transport service users and the general public in the form of banners, displays, and videos at airports related to TBA and TBB for all flight routes," she noted in an official statement received here, Thursday.

Murni also insisted that airport administrators should inform passengers to report to the airport operator regarding any violation of air transport fares that are not in accordance with the applicable regulations.

Murni also reminded passengers of air transportation services to report to the airport authority about violations of air transport rates that are not in accordance with applicable regulations.

"We will immediately follow up the complaint to the Flight Inspector at the Airport Authority Office and the Directorate of Air Transport," she remarked.

Rules regarding TBA and TBB have been regulated through the Minister of Transportation Decree Number KM 106 of 2019 concerning Ceiling Tariffs for Domestic Scheduled Commercial Air Transport for Economy Class Passengers.

Meanwhile, the amount of fuel surcharge is regulated in accordance with Decree of the Minister of Transportation Number KM 7 of 2023 concerning Amounts of Surcharges Caused by Fluctuating Fuel Surcharges on Domestic Scheduled Commercial Air Transport for Economy Class Passengers.

Supervision of the application of air transport ticket fares is conducted by Aviation Inspectors in the Air Transportation Sector at the Airport Authority Office (OBU) and the Directorate of Air Transport assisted by Airport Operators (UPBU and BUBU) in their respective working areas, she stated.

Furthermore, the monitoring results will be reported to the Director General of Air Transportation to be followed up in accordance with applicable regulations, she added.

"If the flight operator is found to have violated the TBA/TBB provisions, we will immediately impose sanctions in accordance with the applicable regulations," she noted.
