The principles are reflected in the Integrated Village Economic Transformation (Tekad) program in eastern Indonesia, which has been implemented by the Ministry of Villages, Development of Disadvantaged Regions, and Transmigration (Kemendes PDTT) in collaboration with the International Fund for Agriculture Development (IFAD).
“Through this program, the Ministry of Villages PDTT, together with IFAD, is trying to accelerate plans for village development goals," Iskandar said in Jakarta on Wednesday.
Each implementation of the Tekad program must be based on micro data, or data based on Village SDGs, because this has been considered key for achieving each of the program's goals and is right on target, he added.
He also asked that each Tekad Program be designed based on problems and needs, and not the wishes of a handful of village, district, or provincial elites.
“I really hope that this program can be enjoyed by the villagers. One thing that I always emphasize is that there must be something that is received by the villagers, the burden of the budget that we allocate has to be spent on villagers," Minister Iskandar said.
The Tekad Program has been publicized in several regions as part of efforts to formulate practical, systematic, and measurable steps for accelerating its implementation.
The program is expected to increase the income of around 412,300 households and benefit 1,855,350 people in 500 core villages and 1,220 cluster villages in 25 districts in 6 provinces in eastern Indonesia.
In eastern Indonesia, the program will target the provinces of Papua, West Papua, South Papua, Maluku, North Maluku, and East Nusa Tenggara (NTT).
Minister Iskandar further called for making the 1,720 villages targeted under the Tekad Program pilot villages for tens of thousands of other villages in Indonesia.
"That's why the innovation model developed must be recorded and disseminated to all villages in Indonesia," he said.
