Jakarta (ANTARA) - Indonesia will raise the issue of green energy and showcase its manufacturing sector capability for facing Industry 4.0 at the world's largest industrial technology exhibition Hannover Messe.

"One of the hot issues related to green energy is sustainable industrial development, namely sustainability and energy transition," director general of resilience, territory, and international Industrial Access (KPAII) at the Industry Ministry Eko Cahyanto said here on Friday.

For this year's Hannover Messe, the government has prepared the Indonesia Pavilion, where a series of conferences will be held from April 18–21, 2023. The pavilion will showcase several applicable policies for supporting the transformation from conventional manufacturing systems to green industry manufacturing systems.

The conferences will present six main themes: “Strengthening the Manufacturing Ecosystem by Accelerating Industry 4.0,” “Investing in the New National Capital City,” “Investing in the Manufacturing Sector,” “Electric Vehicle Ecosystem,” “Sustainability and Carbon Neutrality,” and “Investing Human Capital for Industrial Competitiveness.”

The conferences will feature speakers from the industry and the government.

Indonesia will showcase the green city concept applied in the development of its new capital (IKN) Nusantara, which is one of the National Strategic Projects (PSN).

"Indonesia's participation in Hannover Messe 2023 can increase investment opportunities in IKN Nusantara’s development that implements three concepts of green energy," Cahyanto said.

The three green energy concepts are those of a “forest city,” which has a forest landscape and structure that can act as a nature-balancing ecosystem; a “sponge city,” which is a city with high water absorption to reduce flood risk and improve water quality; and a “smart city,” which is inclusive, dynamic, and community-based.

"The smart city concept is supported by technology as an accelerator for increasing productivity and quality of life," he said.

Indonesia’s selection as the Official Partner Country of Hannover Messe 2023 is a golden opportunity to introduce its industrial technology and achieve the goal of entering the global supply chain network.

Further, Indonesia’s presence at the event can strengthen bilateral relations with Germany, not only in trade, economy, investment, and industry, but also in sustainable development.
