Jakarta (ANTARA) - Nusantara Capital City Authority (OIKN) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Siemens, a German technology company, to develop a smart city, smart building, smart energy sector, smart mobility infrastructure, and smart industrial automation systems in the new capital city of Nusantara.

“We believe that the collaboration with Siemens will bring valuable insights and expertise to the development of smart city concepts in Nusantara, and we look forward to working closely with them in the implementation of this project,” said the Head of the OIKN Bambang Susantono in a press release received in Jakarta, Tuesday.

The MoU aims to strengthen the collaboration between the two parties and exchange ideas and experiences in the planning and implementation of smart city concepts in Nusantara, which support the development of a green economy in Indonesia.

According to Susantono, the MoU marked important steps to make Nusantara as the center of innovation and technology that attracts the development of green business and economy in Indonesia.

OIKN intends to build the new capital city of Nusantara into a smart city that uses digital technology to enhance its capabilities, reduce costs and consumption, and engage more actively and efficiently with its citizens.

“The MoU is expected to contribute to the realization of these goals and strengthen the partnership between the two parties,” he added.

Siemens, as a leading provider of technology and expertise, is committed to supporting the development of the smart energy sector, smart city, smart building, smart mobility infrastructure, and smart industrial automation systems in Nusantara.

The scope of the collaboration includes establishing a working group with relevant stakeholders for smart city development, conducting preliminary feasibility studies in specific fields based on available information, and exploring strategic collaborations in the implementation of projects.
