Jakarta (ANTARA) - Speaker of the House of Representatives (DPR), Puan Maharani, has called for the provision of complete facilities at Eid al-Fitr exodus posts in all regions this year to support the needs of travelers.

"For exodus posts set up by the government or private parties, please prioritize the best services for the community and provide complete facilities," she said in a statement received on Wednesday.

Maharani expressed the hope that the exodus posts will help relieve the exhaustion of exodus travelers during their journey to their hometowns.

Exodus posts on land routes will also need to provide vehicle repair facilities, which may be required by travelers if they face problems with their vehicles, she added.

"Apart from complete facilities for exodus travelers, exodus posts must also ready automotive service technicians. This is aimed at minimizing the incidence of breakdowns of vehicles that use land routes during the exodus journey," she remarked.

In addition, she said that the security at all exodus posts must receive attention. She asked the National Police (Polri) to deploy officers at all posts.

The House Speaker also asked health personnel to be readied at exodus posts so that they can promptly treat travelers who fall sick during the journey.

"(They) must be treated immediately, an ambulance must also be readied at every exodus post," she said.

Maharani expressed the hope that all institutions involved in the implementation of the 2023 Eid exodus would carry out routine evaluations to resolve problems.

The good synergy between agencies must be carried out properly from the central level to the officers in the field, she added.

"We want people to be able to celebrate the holiday with their families in their hometowns without any issues. For that, we need the cooperation of all parties," she said.
