PUPR Minister Basuki Hadimuljono said his side had built phase I and II of the Huntap in accordance with the land provided by the Cianjur District Government to relocate earthquake-affected communities living in the red zone area of the Cugenang fault.
"The Cianjur District Government provided the relocation land in Cilaku and Mande because it is very dangerous for the community to live in the red zone, with a high level of vulnerability to earthquakes and ground motions or landslides," the minister noted in a written statement received here on Thursday.
In total, 200 units of Phase I of Huntap were constructed in Cilaku Sub-district, while 151 units were built for Phase II of Huntap in Mande Sub-district, he explained.
The PUPR Ministry's Director General of Housing, Iwan Suprijanto, stated that currently, the construction of permanent shelters, with earthquake-resistant housing technology, called the simple healthy instant house (RISHA), has been completed. Construction of 200 units of Phase I of Huntap in Cilaku Sub-district was completed in March 2023 and has been occupied by the community.
"While on April 18, 2023, as many as 151 units of Phase II of Huntap built in Mande Sub-district have also been completed," he remarked.
He explained that Huntap Phase I was built on an area of 2.4 hectares, while the area for Phase II spanned 1.9 hectares. The two housing locations have been equipped with infrastructure, facilities, and utilities (PSU) to provide comfort and convenience to the beneficiary communities.
"In Huntap Phase II, environmental roads and waterways have also been completed. As for infrastructure and public facilities, such as mosques and community halls, are still under construction," Suprijanto stated.

He noted that each house of 36 square meters was built on 75 square meters of land for Huntap phases I and II. The Huntap consists of a living room, two bedrooms, a bathroom, and a kitchen.
Specifications for the building use the RISHA earthquake-resistant structure, lightweight brick walls, and plaster. The roof frame of the building uses mild steel and galvalume roof covering.
Meanwhile, 60x60cm ceramic tiles are used for the flooring, with doors and windows made of UPVC and gypsum ceilings, he remarked.
He said that the construction of Phase I and II of Huntap was conducted by a contractor service from PT Brantas Abipraya and PT Indah Karya Construction Management.
"We hope that after the handover to the Cianjur District Government, the Huntap can be immediately occupied by the beneficiaries," he remarked.
An earthquake struck Cianjur, West Java, on November 21, 2022, at 13:21 local time, with a magnitude of 5.6 and a depth of 10 kilometers that resulted in up to 600 fatalities.
