Jakarta (ANTARA) - The National Population and Family Planning Agency (BKKBN) has unveiled an application named Population Control Early Warning Information System (Siperindu) as an innovation to ensure the Indonesian population grows in a balanced manner.

“The Siperindu application has become an assistance tool for various elements, including the government and public, for population situation and the latest information concerning population," Riau BKKBN Head Mardalena Wati Yulia informed in a statement issued on Wednesday.

She said population control has become one of the most important aspects of development in every country, including Indonesia which is currently preparing to face the demographic bonus.

In addition to providing the latest information concerning the population situation in Indonesia, Siperindu has also been beneficial in providing policy recommendations or realizing the government's preparedness for maintaining the population balance.

This has been done with the help of the Population Control Early Warning strategic solution model that uses family development, population, and family planning as parameters in Siperindu.

Moreover, in 2021, the Siperindu application was operated online as an assistance tool for provincial governments and district/city governments in implementing the Population Control Early Warning System, Yulia noted.

Throughout this time, it has managed to provide guidance facilitation as well as population control early warning system reports from the government to regional governments across Indonesia and has worked well and achieved the established targets.

Within the past two years, the application has continued to be developed through various kinds of advice whether in terms of the modeling aspect to adjustment to more annually measurable indicators.

Now, Siperindu's trial has determined the result of the model development and improvement of the population control early warning assistance tool in three provinces last week: West Java, Lampung, and Riau.

In relation to the target for 2023, the agency is aiming to implement the Population Control Early Warning System in one province and five districts or cities.

"This program will lead toward a single destination, namely how to create balanced and quality population growth," Yulia remarked.
