Jakarta (ANTARA) - The National Population and Family Planning Agency (BKKBN) has asked all personnel of the Task Force for the Acceleration of Stunting Reduction to complete seven important tasks for handling stunting in regions without delay.

"There are seven important points that must be pursued, with the task force as the spearhead in all regions. Our time is very limited, we only have 1.5 years left," BKKBN head Hasto Wardoyo said in an official statement received here on Thursday.

At the 2023 District/City Level Task Force Coordination Meeting on Tuesday (May 9), Wardoyo noted that the task force has been entrusted with carrying out seven important tasks to tackle stunting in an appropriate and fast manner.

According to him, the first task that must be completed immediately is data collection related to the results of height and weight measurements of toddlers at integrated health posts (posyandus), as well as the health status of prospective brides and grooms through the Elsimil Application.

Any data collected must be compiled in real-time to realize accurate and credible data for stunting handling in the future, he added.

The second task is related to providing intensive assistance to families at risk of stunting, the third task involves ensuring the provision of processed complementary food (PMT), either through the village budget or stunting funds, to pregnant women and toddlers.

"Regarding the PMT, the resources that must be supervised by the task force is the implementation. The task force must also ensure that the delivery is right on target, namely those from the Health Service and community health centers (puskesmas), from village funds, PKH (Family Hope Program), and provision of BAAS (Fathers for Fostering Stunting Children)," Wardoyo said.

The fourth task is to strengthen the convergence of all agencies in contributing to stunting alleviation. For example, the Public Works Service, the Food Service, the Health Service, and the Family Planning Service, with an emphasis on stunting, as one of the indicators for assessing bureaucratic reform in a region, and part of the evaluation for obtaining the Adipura Award, apart from extreme poverty and inflation.

The fifth is related to conducting a mini-workshop on stunting in the sub-districts in the form of a workshop held at least once a month, and the sixth is highlighting the importance of conducting audits of stunting cases, the BKKBN head informed.

"Seventh is the mobilization of all parties by participating in becoming Stunting Children Foster Fathers (BAAS). This is important because this mutual cooperation is our strength. I hope that with pentahelix activities, we can reduce stunting," he said.
