Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Co-operatives and Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) Ministry has said that it expects the Entrepreneur Hub program to support innovative activities related to entrepreneurship development, especially in universities.

"Higher education is expected to downstream their research so that young entrepreneurs can feel the benefits," the Ministry's Deputy for Entrepreneurship Siti Azizah said here on Saturday.

Universities can help entrepreneurs by providing them access or support when it comes to crucial aspects of a business, she added.

Entrepreneur Hub can be a collaborative platform for parties who have the same vision and mission on entrepreneurship development.

Entrepreneur Hub can help business actors build and develop their enterprises, in addition to offering mentoring and access to financing and banking, she said.

"This aligns with the directive of the Minister of Co-operatives and SMEs Teten Masduki to create 1 million new entrepreneurs by 2024 towards becoming a developed country," she said.

The ministry has said it believes that Entrepreneur Hub can increase the number and role of stakeholders seeking to develop entrepreneurship.

She said this will certainly increase the ratio of entrepreneurship in Indonesia.

At least 100 business players joined the mentoring session of the Entrepreneur Hub Session 2, which was held at a private university in Jakarta.

The participants also compiled their business profiles, which will be made into an e-catalog that will make it easier for investors and other parties to see their profiles.

On the same occasion, Rector of Agung Podomoro University Bacelius Ruru emphasized that the Entrepreneur Hub has been carried out to support entrepreneurs in developing their businesses.

Through this program, participants can actively educate the public about the insights gained on creating a business and become an axis in the target of 1 million new entrepreneurs by 2024.

"Let us together build Indonesia onward through an entrepreneurial ecosystem to realize stable, innovative, and sustainable entrepreneurs," he remarked.
