Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Nusantara Capital Authority (OIKN) revealed that as many as 17 countries are keen to invest in the Nusantara Capital City (IKN), East Kalimantan, as of May 7, 2023.

"Thank God, there are good indications that around 17 countries have entered (interested in) investing in IKN," Deputy for Green and Digital Transformation of OIKN Ali Berawi stated during an online seminar on the Development of the Nusantara Capital City as a Resilient City, Net Zero and Circular Economy in Jakarta on Friday.

Berawi remarked that until May 7, 2023, the OIKN had received Letters of Intent (LoI) for investment in IKN, with over 200 private companies, both domestic and foreign, having shown interest, and that figure will certainly continue to grow.

In 2024, the OIKN prioritizes building a complete ecosystem in the IKN Central Government Core Area (KIPP). Meanwhile, the Planning Sub-Area 1A of KIPP IKN will be constructed, with a total land area of 2,876 hectares and a development area of 921 hectares.

The IKN Planning Team is currently handling a total of 3,115 plots of land, of which 798 plots of land are for the KIPP Planning Area (WP).

The types of land plots in WP KIPP IKN are designated for the residential sector reaching as many as 257, some 94 land plots for education facilities, 22 land plots for health facilities, and 165 land plots for trade and service facilities.

Moreover, three plots are for private offices, 116 land plots for public facilities, 110 land plots for governmental facilities, 28 land plots for defense and security facilities, and three land plots for transportation facilities.

Meanwhile, 1,070 land plots are allocated for West WP IKN, 875 land plots for East 1 WP IKN, and 372 land plots for East 2 WP IKN.

Earlier, OIKN and the Alserkal Group - Envirol, an investor from Dubai, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), signed a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) for the waste handling sector at IKN Nusantara.

Deputy for Funding and Investment of OIKN Agung Wicaksono said this was proof that interest in investment from the Middle East was increasing. The UAE is a partner and brother of Indonesia.

The Alserkal Group - Envirol signed the NDA with OIKN in the field of waste management, especially fat, oil, and grease (FOG) waste, as a form of support in realizing a smart and green city in IKN.
