Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Human Resources Development Agency (BPSDM) is playing an important role as the backbone of governments across Indonesia, acting governor of Jakarta Heru Budi Hartono has said.

"Don't take it lightly; it seems that BPSDM's activities are simple, but actually, it is building the 'invisible,' which is human resources, as opposed to visible infrastructure," he pointed out here on Monday.

In addition to helping run the wheels of governments in the country, the agency has a vital role in producing qualified, capable, and professional human resources for state civil apparatus (ASN), he said.

Thus, his administration expressed strong support for the BPSDM National Coordination Meeting on Monday, which was attended by the heads of BPSDMs of all provinces in Indonesia.

"The Jakarta provincial government strongly supports this meeting. Hopefully, this national coordination meeting can help our country to welcome Golden Indonesia 2045," he said.

He asked BPSDM to anticipate the differences between generations so that development efforts remain sustainable.

"The generation born in 2005 is expected to be leaders by 2045. This needs to be a concern because there are differences in character," he explained.

Meanwhile, Deputy Minister of Home Affairs John Wempi Wetipo said that the Golden Indonesia goal of making Indonesia an advanced country by 2045 is part of the government's vision to build a sovereign, just, and prosperous developed country that has superior human resources with mastery over knowledge and technology.

"Healthy, smart, productive, competitive, and ethical human resources are the ones who can realize Golden Indonesia. The vision should be lived by civil servants throughout Indonesia so that the level of trust generally and also the world can increase," Wetipo said.

The BPSDM National Coordination Meeting, held by the Home Affairs Ministry, was entitled "Collaboration of Quality State Civil Apparatus in Realizing National and Regional Visions."
