Do not let everything be based on a transactional basis because it will surely fail
Jakarta (ANTARA) - Chief of the Presidential Staff (KSP) Moeldoko expressed optimism that the millennial state civil apparatus (ASN), as the next generation of policymakers, would fulfill the four human capital guidelines.

Millennial ASN are expected to manage an increasingly fast bureaucracy in the midst of technological advancements, he stated.

"There are four human capital guidelines that must be fulfilled," he noted at the 2022 ASN Fest inauguration event here, Saturday.

These guidelines are important to maximize ASN's output, strengthen public trust, and bring about a better understanding of the community's needs in the current era, Moeldoko added.

The human capital guidelines comprise emotional capital, intellectual capital, spiritual capital, and social capital.

Moeldoko noted that emotional capital requires ASN to not be selfish but be heedful and accept criticism from others.

"When you become a leader, do not ignore the thoughts of our staff," he emphasized.

Speaking in connection with the second human capital guideline being intellectual capital, Moeldoko urged ASN to be intelligent, responsive, and confident. The ASN must also have a contemporary way of thinking in accordance with the development of the current situation and conditions.

Spiritual capital requires ASN to have a good moral foundation. This ability will become someone's foundation to reject something that is not theirs.

"Do not let everything be based on a transactional basis because it will surely fail," he stated.

As for social capital, Moeldoko reminded that it was important to help ASN in building a good network amid the collaboration era.

"This is the era of collaboration. We cannot live without building a good network. We must be good at communicating with various parties," he emphasized.

In addition, Moeldoko urged millennial ASN to continue to light the fire of idealism. He believed that everyone should have the desire to do something better than their predecessors.

"Young people must have a new spirit to manage an increasingly fast bureaucracy, have high flexibility, be adaptive to the environment, and understand what customers need. I think this will be extraordinary," he concluded.
