"For 23 days, while they mingled with the community in West Sumatra, the training participants motivated and inspired the younger generation to dedicate themselves to the country," Mahyeldi said here on Sunday.
He said the enthusiasm of West Sumatran youths to serve the country by becoming members of the Indonesian Military/National Police (TNI/Polri) is already high.
According to him, the training strengthened that enthusiasm further.
"The education office has collaborated with the TNI/Polri to provide guidance for high school/high vocational students so that they can be prepared in serving the country," he said.
The governor said that the entire series of 43rd Wreda Nusantara Cadets Integrity Training activities in West Sumatra went well without significant obstacles.
"We praise the dedication shown by all participants for almost a month in West Sumatra," he said.
For 23 days, the training participants devoted themselves to various physical and non-physical activities.
He also explained that the cadets were able to blend in with local residents and cooperate in succeeding in the agenda with their energy, heart, and mind.
In a short time, the participants built a few infrastructures in the five districts and cities, while the community supported them indirectly.
Meanwhile, the Commander General of the TNI Academy, Lieutenant General Teguh Arief, appreciated the cadets who had built emotional connections, socialized with the community, and maintained local customs and wisdom in West Sumatra.
"Cadets learn how to socialize in the community. This is their first time socializing since leaving the dormitory. It was a new experience for them," he said.
